Cost Effectiveness of Repeat HIV testing

This study developed a mathematical model to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of alternative strategies for repeated HIV testing in sub-Saharan Africa, under alternative assumptions of high, medium and low HIV incidence rates, and varying costs and benefits of HIV testing and treatment. The model evaluates the relative cost effectiveness of repeat HIV testing strategies ranging from every 3 months to once every 15 years.

It will inform the development of customized guidelines for repeat HIV testing intervals depending on local HIV incidence and HIV testing and treatment cost.
